Guillermo Moncecchi
Guillermo Moncecchi is, since January 2019, Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining of Uruguay. He is a researcher of Natural Language Processing at the University of the Republic of Uruguay. He received a Doctorate in Computer Science from UDELAR and a Doctorate in Language Sciences from the Paris Ouest University, France. He has participated in several international projects on Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning. In 2013, he co-authored the book Learning scikit-learn: Machine Learning in Python. As Minister, he participates in the definition and execution in Uruguay of policies related to industrial and mining development, diversification of the energy matrix, telecomputers and support for micro, small and medium enterprises. In this management, special emphasis has been placed on mainstreaming policies, supporting research and innovation, generating synergies between the different actors in the productive ecosystem and the effective incorporation of advances in energy and telecommunications infrastructure in the matrix National production
