Fernando Brum

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Uruguay s National Research and Innovation Agency ( ANII - Agencia Nacional de Investigación e Innovación). Since 2005, he has played an active role in the definition and implementation of public policies relative to technology and innovation. He was a founding member of the ANII as well as of Plan Ceibal. Fernando occupied executive positions in companies from the Information Technology and International Business fields. He led several projects for numerous companies and institutions in Europa, Canada, the U.S., Israel and Latin America. He also worked as technology, business and innovation consultant at different entities and corporations, including the UNDP and the Inter-American Development Bank. As professor of the Masters Programme of the Catholic University of Uruguay, Fernando has been visiting professor at a number of universities abroad. He also authored numerous technical articles on information technology and public policies for the promotion of innovation.
